Elbow deep in my engine b&q as I write this - we are in the middle of a head rebuild.

Got the thing running, it then stopped. We appear to have fuel at the bleed point but not at the injectors. The throttle seems loose as well. No indication of firing but when it did we had plenty of compression.

Any ideas?

Looks like an airlock.

Lift decompressors so engine will spin quickly
Engage Cold start
Full Throttle
Get someone to operate starter
When engine is turning, crack open each fuel line to the injectors and nip up when engine is still turning.

If it ran and then stopped and there is no fuel at the injectors I would investigate the operation of the cold start if it is the same system as the MD2B. Had exactly the same symptoms as you describe and I found that the pin of the cold start button had jammed the rod that controls the governors. If its the same arrangement as the MD17D with a handle you pull out for cold start then ignore the above.
I'd rather be in B&Q!
Looks like the diesel pump, with issues around governers, its time to call in the pros.
Ah well

It could be an airlock or it could be finger trouble when re installing the fuel pump when you had it off and the fork of the governor arm is not correctly sitting round the ball on the governor rack but to one side so not pushing AND pulling.
