MD1 engine mounts

I'm after a set of engine mounts for an aged Volvo Penta MD1. They're delisted but I'm hoping someone somewhere may be holding old stock or someone somewhere else may be sitting on some salvaged mounts. To jog memories, the MD1 mounts differ from those of the MD1B. Also, front and back are not the same, one of the sets is a very distinctive inverted 'v' arrangement.

You're out there somewhere!

Talk to R&D Marine on 01 462 892361, they will sort you out with a new set of mounts ..and probably only charge you a quarter of the price. They do mounts for practically any engine

The inverted vee mounts that you describe are a Jaguar product. I'm not sure if they are engine mounts in the Jag or exhaust pipe mounts. The others are fairly ordinary.

Thanks for pointer to R&D but already contacted and uanble to help. These mounts have disappeared from everyone's lists, so it seems. Another reader suggested they may be Jaguar mounts but I haven't found matching or convertibale equivalents there, either.

I think, therefore, it's a case of hunting out a salvaged set. Any clues/pointers appreciated.

The Vee Shaped one are U.K. manufactured by Metalastic. They were fitted to the rear leaf suspensions of the old Rover 3000 Coupe. Available at a fraction of the cost.

A really late thankyou. What a piece of knowledge! With your steer I now have the right mounts for my MD1. We missed the season but hopefully all will be well for next season... if we can now find a piston!

There's an old saying... bit I won't say it here!

Thank you again, really appreciated.

Apologies for the lateness of this reply. Your help was much appreciated re VP MD1 and Jaguar mounts. I couldn't track the right ones this way but I got a later steer to the old Rover P5 and that came good. I guess the two could have shared but I couldn't get deep enough into the Jaguar history to source the original. Anyway, problem resolved and many, many thanks for your input. We didn't make it into the water this season, fingers crossed for next, and may you have a good season too!

Thanks again and apologies for apparent rudeness in not replying earlier.
