Just seen on boatsandoutboards a McNulty 12' longstone mahogany clinker sailing dinghy, looks in beautiful condition, I am sorely tempted to add it to my other McNulty dinghy a 8' baby one, this one is a very reasonable 1950 squids! They are beautifully built.
Somebody please talk me out of this lunacy, theres hardly enough room on deck now to sunbathe and the davits are already full!

You should buy the McNulty.

A friend of mine sails one and as you say lovely boats.

Not what you needed to hear but most likely what you want!
 
No! No! Ben that wasnt what I wanted to hear!! I'm getting married next month, she would kill me! I know they are lovely boats, got one!!
 
Can you try to buy some peace by offering to part with the 8 footer, and explaining how much better as a tender the 12 footer is? Don't forget to buy flowers when you're making this spiel.

Sorry, I am not going to talk you out of this lunacy - far from it! Rather I shall offer encouragement instead.
Its always useful to have two tenders, especially if you have guests staying on board. And I am sure that your dear lady will see the rationale and sense behind this.
So maybe the bigger one can be stowed in the davits, and the wee one can be stowed elsewhere (perhaps on the wheelhouse roof?).

If 3 is not enough, I know of another McNulty in Belgium. Brand new motor version around 16 ft I recall. It is with a dealer who is retiring.
It is relatively expensive. I think it was around £10k, but that might have been €10k.
Go on. There must be some more room somewhere!!
 
If you really want to take the moral high ground you could persuade yourself that it would be very mean of you to buy it and that you should give someone else the chance of experiencing the joys(?) of owning a wooden boat!

It could be a good line for your inteneded as well.

Theres room fo two McNultys!! But she would kill me, Theres no way I'm parting with "percy" my wee McNulty, he's been with me for 25 years!!! I want to save it for future generations, some fool may buy it and neglect it!! Couldnt bear the pain! It's no use! I'm going to have to have it!
It's on a tralier as well and I'm coming over to UK in June, so it will go back with me! Stuff it, live dangerously!

you can't get rid of Percy. You can use her as a tender for the bigger McNulty. as lnog as you are able to look after both, you should have both.

OK, well I talked Belinda into this dinghy, only to find it was bloody sold!!! Knickers!!
But long before I saw it actually they had just forgotten to remove it from BAOB. So now I'm in the market for a 12' clinker wood dinghy, with sail, been googling etc, havent come across anything I like or in the condition so far, HELPPPPP!!!
