Hi - Does anyone have the McMurdo M10/M10W AIS transponder CD that includes the configuration utilities? Specifically, I need the AIS class b configuration program: "mcmurdo_ais_classb_config.exe". I don't have the CD.

Additionally, I need to change the programmed MMSI. There is a partner engineering utility called "mcmurdo m10 engineering configuration tool 1.2". This may only be available to McMurdo service providers -- if so, anyone in Los Angeles that can reprogram the MMSI number for me?

Thank you
Don

Pete - Tried that already. The configuration utility is not on their portal/software download page. --
just the firmware updates and AIS viewer. Also, many of the download links are broken (page not found). Also need the engineering utility to update MMSI.

I think you will find that the M10 is simply a rebadged Camino 108....
I use the Camino firmware and configuration tools OK - also, the firmware and utility is much more up to date than that from the McMurdo site.

Not sure about the MMSI reprogramming though... If you find out, can you post here please?

Great information - I downloaded the Camino utilities and they look identical to McMurdo's. In fact, the McMurdo software Help - About dialog references Alltek Marine, just like Camino's software. You are spot on - the Camino utilities are more current. Looks like I can use the Camino firmware and config tools. Now to keep looking for a way to change the MMSI. Thanks!!

Very interesting -- I will try that and report back to the group. Also, I spoke with Milltech Marine in Seattle -- they have a service to reprogram the MMSI and experience with the Alltech/Camino/McMurdo units. Either way, I should be good to go.
Thank you, Don

Try looking here... I cannot see if this works, but let us know.

I've just tried that on an M10 I have access to.

The window popped up as promised, and after entering the code it said "The device has been reprogrammed", filled the MMSI box with zeros, and disconnected me. I was very pleased, this could potentially be quite useful to me. But sadly, when I reconnected, the existing MMSI was still there, and still shown as unable to be reprogrammed.

The pop-up window says you need to send your MMSI to a distributor to obtain the necessary code, and the code in the PDF (2367) looks like it's been filled in separately. So I would guess that distributors have some software which generates the update code as some function of an MMSI, and when someone contacts them they send back a copy of that PDF with the relevant number filled in. So the PDF on hisse-et-oh will work for the right person's M10, but not mine or the OP's. We'd need to know how they transform an MMSI into a four-digit code.

A quick update -- McMurdo sent me the programs needed:) Hopefully they will fix the links on their website so others can download the tools too. Several McMurdo "partners" offered help to reset the MMSI. Milltech Marine in Seattle offers a reset service. What ended up working for me was simply asking McMurdo for the tools.

Much thanks to everyone who offered suggestions, links to AMEC/Alltech, and tricks to reset the MMSI. It looks like I have everything needed to configure this used McMurdo AIS transponder.
