My Nav6 is receiving messages ok but is not showing any position data, speed or heading. Can anyone tell me if the Nav6 has to be connected direct to a GPS system or does it have its own GPS and just needs connecting to a GPS (receiver) aerial? Thanks in advance.

It requires an nmea feed from a seperate GPS. (Atleast mine does)

Are you sure it is supposed to display position and speed as not all do!!!!

See Manual.

It does not show any GPS info but uses the GPS position to filter station reception (ie it will filter out signals received from stations way outside your present area)

My Nav6 Plus repeats all of the instruments and shows all GPS data, it even keeps an electronic log.

A pity they no longer make them.

I sent them an email yesterday as my ics 6 plus has developed a Rx fault and noted that they now have a seperate Rx and passive A/e so just wanted to make sure new one was compatable, got a reply within 10 min to say that it was, along with PDF of new layout and asked if I had serial No of unit as they would do software update if one available, very impressive. By the way SMG (Plymouth) are now the UK distributors
