MBY cover price

Thank you!

no need to weigh it. was was going to buy it on my Ipad so no weight issues but i refuse to pay more for something electronically than i can buy off the shelf. they want 5.49 for it electronically!

Aren't they running a competition to get an iPad at the boat show?

Apparently they are chained to the fairground stall and you've got to see if you can wriggle one free :)

Henry :D

Just checked on Zinio and it's £4.30 for a single issue. £29.99 for 12 months.

I do agree that setting a suitable price is a tricky one.

Henry

Edited to say Might be subject to Vat !

"Out" on the other hand is a mere £9.21 for 10 issues. Given "Out" is the self proclaimed number one gay magazine it would appear someone at IPC is trying to take advantage of my heterosexual love of watersports. I'm off to find a homosexual orientated monthly boating magazine in the hope it will save me 20 notes a year.

Not sure about Friday's spot the boat competition though :(

Hi z1ppy,

You get embedded galleries and video content in the iPad version.

Thanks,

Jack

But you can access these through the mag with the right phone/device/app.

True, but not every feature has a QR code on it because some galleries/videos just wouldn't look right on the website, where as most are fine when embedded on the iPad.

Henry,

Oh no, here you go again!
Another interesting thread begins.......
Before anyone asks, Yes we will spray a hull pink if you really want it to be:D

Jack,
Is QR codes a mnemonic for something vaguely "gay" or do they just lead us innocently to "interesting" videos?

Hi Mike,

An interesting theory you have there but no, they simply mean that you can scan them with with a smartphone and go straight through to the gallery/video.

Cheers,

Jack

What are you insinuating here?

The fact is when you search for Motorboats Monthly you have to go to the men's section (apparently women aren't interested in boats), and the section under boating is gay love, so I quickly popped in to see what other periodicals charged on line.

I'll have you know that neither Dave or I are gay :)

I will pop along to the stand over the weekend but before then what happens if you are already subscribed to the touchy feely paper magazine? I suspect someone might have subscribed me recently as a gift? Have I lucked out or is there some sort of rear entry back door into the iPad version for paper subscribers?

Oh, and how many iPads have you got left?

Henry :)

Hi Henry,

As far as I'm aware there is no combined digital and paper subscription model at the moment unfortunately, although it's something that we're looking in to.

Going to the stand is your best bet because Richard and Sam of the marketing department will be the best people to talk to about sorting out subs issues.

Thanks,

Jack

That's what I thought. Always easiest sorting these things out with your hand around their throat and your fist poised ready. Emails never seem to elicit the same response.

See you all on Saturday.

Richard responds to this method particularly well so, please, throttle away! :D

Cheers,

Jack

have just subscribed to 6 months.. thought it about time I saw what all the fuss was about, a thread seems to start every month about something or other relating to the content
