MBM Zeeland Cruise

Given MBM's Zeeland cruise starts with boats assembling on Saturday 28th July at Ramsgate for departure to Nieuwpoort on the Sunday, is anyone positioning their boat from the Solent to Ramsgate, leaving next Thursday (26th) of Friday (27th)?

I keep my boat (Play d'eau) at Berthon, Lymington, and am planning to leave on either day, depending upon weather, with one stop, either Brighton or Dover (prefer the latter).

However, if the water is kind, non-stop to Ramsgate would be an exciting challenge....

I cruise around 24 knots, but am happy to go (a bit!) slower to accomodate.

You offering to go a bit slower? We all know that Play D'Eau is 28kn plus at sea and 5kn or less inland!

I'm moving Calm Voyager from Portsmouth back end next week but with all these lows around will be weather watching with a view to a quick leap earlier if necessary. If Friday I need to be in Eastbourne by 1200 and will not be able to leave again until 1800 (but would intend pushing on to Ramsgate then). If earlier in the week I'll be looking for Portsmouth Ramsgate non-stop, hopefully with no more that a nice SW breeze...but probably with an unstable NE!

Never organised a cruise via forum before...but for all MBM Cruising Club types hereabouts we're thinking about launching a dedicated forum for you to use to organise crew and team up with each other for cruises. Good idea? Would you use it?

Got to keep my hand in some how. Looking at the scars on my knuckles, virtual cruises seem so much easier!

Only 24 kts? I thought you went much faster. Are Princess running short of Dilithium Crystals?

Perhaps you could do with a local pilot such as on our leisurely jaunt rock dodging around Sark. It was a enough to test a man's good humour!
