Yes where do you sleep in the Targa? also had a cooker where you should have your charts, an outside bog and was 10kts slower (admitably with a smaller engine) on paper I would buy the Nordstar.
The one in the aft of course. down the stairs. Pipe berths are not entirely open at the sides. You slide your feet into an enclosed space (sort of like getting into a sleeping bag)
On our 25 - the older model but I think the new one is the same - you have 2 long single berths in the "cabin". These are about 10ft long so really are only suitable for one adult plus 1 child sleeping head to head.
They are of the "pipe berth" type due to the fact that the ends of them run down alongside the enclosed engine bay towards the stern and enclosed fuel tank forward.
The boats are therefore realistically only 2 berth ones and with single berths at that.
We've not found this any problem for our useage of dayboating with only occasional overnighting. We find that the positive safety and handling characteristics far outweigh the domestic disadvantages. The boat is huge FUN /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
PS Our hob doesn't rattle 'cos we store the metal frame, that fits on top, in one of the wheelhouse lockers.
They do seem fairly clear on the website that they consider it 2+2, though I suspect they'd admit it would be rather tight for 4 on a regular basis, hence 2+2, rather than 4
