I thought I would post updates of our May Cruise. Day one was Saturday and we left Beaulieu after lunch in stunning conditions

Past Cap Ferrat

And to the Lerins

We were not the only people with the same idea.

A great sunset having had a Top day.

Let’s see what today holds!

Sunday was a quiet day. We moved from one island to another

We then went to La Tonnelle for a lovely lunch at not too crazy prices for the SofF. A great view of our boat from the restaurant .

Then back for some sun, a swim and some time on my paddle board.

Sunset looking east and time for sundowners

Off to Cannes today.

A jobsworth ( port police ) don,t like anchoring beach side - between a the two port entrance markers -
That area in the summer is for water sports from the private beaches along the Crossete .
Draw a line from the E to the W ports entrance markers ( white towers ) and stay S —- it’s pretty deep ish for a 12 M ?

You are not going far , feels like it’s gonna take a while to shake off sail boat mentality?

If it’s calm spend a day tucked up under the Esteral Mountains- in one of the many coves , then at tea time press on to Agay ,
Bouys to the R of the entrance or E side a little protected cove with idilic beach straw hut cafe / restaurant- you know fresh grilled sardines and such like :encouragement:

A simple day today.

Headed to Cannes as the weather is due to be a bit poor tonight and we wanted to reprovision. Two nights in Cannes €84 which I think isn’t too bad.

Unfortunately, I was on my phone as we arrived organising our berth so no pictures. Still I have spent some time this afternoon watching the big boys come and go. One thing in in common - slow and steady with good communications in play. Certainly a lesson there!

In the corner behind Hotel d Ville is a small windy street up the hill call Le Suquet .
It’s full of restaurants, gets cheaper the higher you go .
There’s a nice new mini Italian super market on the marina side .
With your back to the sea looking at the port from the ferry terminal,it’s the road on the LHS ( if the festival hall is on the R

Just to the R of the position on the image there’s a villa on the headland ( town side ) and a beach .
Mooring buoys are graded they say 8/10 or not n your case 12 M
Pick one up - 20/ 30 E for either the day or 24 hrs .

How ever t,other side L of the postion plate poursset ( sp ) is nice too it’s deep right in and a great snoring ledge to the N .

There’s no need to go any nearer the town .
Turn R and pick up buoy for the pm .
You can ch 12 or something a tender from the harbour master to bring you in for a meal saves phaffing with your own tender - € 6 rtn from memory or FOC

Excellent S! Weather looks way better than when we were out there a couple of weeks ago. The water temp was 14degC which sort of discourages you from swimming. I trust its warming up now:eek:

Porto what is the max size of boat allowed on the buoys in Agay?

Can,t be sure Mike they lay them for the season .Guess max 15 M ?
Bigger stuff inc SY,s anchor in the middle of the bay .
Hopefully S will chime in later .
It’s all to do with the eco movement of protecting the seabed on one hand and encourage business ( ch 12 tender ) into Agay - something like that .
We used to stay a lot esp when the kids were little- you know security and so on selling the idea to SWIMBO .
Beaches are nice too .

Round the corner to the W is Markc,s stomping ground St Raphael .
If you are reading this S from memory the fuel pontoon in the N side closes 12-2 lunch .
We sometimes ( bit cheeky) arrive at 1205 and tie up - there’s a petit Casino, + other shops + restaurants.
Then depart 1355 - on our way - after topping up with water .

Alternatively another place to fill up with water is Port Grimaud just inside the break water on the R .
Again arive 12-2 and the Capitaniers have disappeared. Moor stern to infront of the office .
By the time they arrive ( your water is full and you have packed up the hose . ) and you can innocently enquire about a berth for the night .
Good mood they just say stay there and you pay / M , or direct to another berth .

I,ll wait until asked before volunteering anymore info .
We arrive Thur until early July ,for our 1 st summer stint - so may catch up ?? We will be heading to Porquerolles area at some point .

Heavy rain last night and showers today. Luckily Cannes has a few things on offer....

Water temp now 20 and I jumped in with and without my wetsuit. With wetsuit was more comfortable!

Will look at the buoys in Agay tomorrow for you. That could be taken the wrong way!!
