maxum 2400scr

Hi

I'm looking to buy a used maxum 2400scr (approx 5 years old) fitted with a mercruiser 5.0L petrol engine.
Does anyone have any experiance of these? what to look for etc etc.

hi,i sold a maxum 2400 years ago and i think it was a big boat for 24 ft,large cockpit area.
canopies can be a bit ropey !
also look for a chris craft 26 lot of boat for not much money

build quality was good and improved much from later models, pre 2000

I owned one for a couple of years and she was fitted with the 4.3 Mercruiser. Great boat, completly trouble free but you will find that the mositure readings on the hull will be quite high but it seems it is normal for american boats. Had the hull epoxied just in case.

Can be quite fun to moor when it is windy esp. with the canopy up - had a bow thruster fitted which transformed the boat.

Did a couple of trips to the Channel Islands without issue.

I purchased one this time last year. 10 years old 1 owner from new. it is a great fun boat. Plenty of room for days out or an overnight stay. Spec. is good with most necessary equipment on board. I agree it is interesting mooring in the wind. I'm sure you wont be disapointed
