Sailed on one for a couple of years. Liked the wide decks, but can be wet in the short chop typical of the Med. Needs a sprayhood. Boarding ladder a bit awkward and short boom makes rigging a decent sized awning at anchor a tad difficult. But otherwise a nice boat to sail. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
Thankyou for the replies. My boat is a Marcon Tomahawk 25´twin keel , a bit tender to sailing in moderates winds, and I´m looking for a litle bigger boat, strong, fin keel ,good ballast , and fast.
Do you thing the Maxi 84 could be right.
Best regards.
Tomas
Got one! Good sea boat, even up here. Lots of space below of the size. Good family boat too good deep cockpit. Can easily be sailed single-handed. I do the odd club race (with class wins and places)and have twice beat a fully crewed Brav 34. Great up wind.
Good solid boat. First reef at about 22kts of wind. Top speed up wind 8kts and no problems in a strong blow.
Any questions - make connect
Hello Viking, I have some questions abouth Maxi 84:
displacemen ? ( 3000 or 3600 kg.)
sail plan in m2 ?
normal speed motoring? ( Volvo 14 cv. or 20 cv. ?)
sailing speed in usual wind (12- 18 knt)?
I´m sorry for my bad english.
A lot of thanks.
Tomas.
