Hi I've got a max power bow thruster and I'm trying to remove the little propellors for cleaning and anti foul etc.
I've removed the little Allen screw, it's about an inch long, but they won't pull off. Any ideas.
Thanks

If it's the same as my Maxpower then the little allen screw holds the circular anode in place. It can be a bit of a pig to get off but a little prizing with a small screwdriver should free it away from the hub. Once that's off the retaining not for the prop becomes obvious. If it's been a while since you had the prop off the shaft it might take a bit of persuausion but don't overdo it as the props are quite a brittle plastic. Come back on here or PM me if you have probs.

Regards

Chas

If there's a risk of breaking anything leave well alone. They are part of the plastimo empire in administration and won't answer their phones or return calls.

May help to post the model of thruster although would expect them to be pretty well all the same.
On ours Allen screw is to hold on the anode. Behind that is a nut.

Here is a link to an interesting set of Bow Thruster installation pictures that some may find useful.

Our model is the series 80 duo classic in a tunnel. The installation manual makes no mention of a prop retaining nut, only this inch long Alen screw.
Although I'd like to have them off etc I'm tempted to leave well alone if it's got anything to do with plastimo and brittle plastic

Looking at pictures of second hand ones on ebay.com they all seem to have a loctite nut holding the prop on. Your specific model isn't on there.

I have a Maxpower CT100. The plastic props are held on solely with a grub screw. Once the screw is loosened, they just pull off. Perhaps yours, if similar, have got painted on or something and need a little more force.
There is no anode and the props are plastic, although I did have some rust at the centre of the prop which is metal.
