Hi, i'm a brand-new yacht enthusiast in my very early 20s. I've recently purchased a lovely Medusa 25 and while it is water tight, there are a few things i would like to replace and/or fix.

However, my knowledge is shallow and would love to know if there is a owners handbook available anywhere that i could buy or read.

Any help would be vastly appreciated.

Never would have been an owners manual - such things were unheard of when the boat was built. There were only a handful of this design built and probably they would have differed in equipment etc as they were built to order. By now no doubt many things will have changed anyway as things have worn out or owners have upgraded.

It is a typical MG design based on his many shallow draft boats mostly built in wood. They were old fashioned when built in the early 60s but well liked for being robust and steady rather than sharp sailing boats.

As already suggested if you have specific questions about particular bits of gear then feel free to ask. Much of the gear would also have been used on other similar size bots built at the time.

For some useful background you might find this website useful, although it concentrates more on MGs more popular designs such as the Eventide and the Golden Hind
