Custom made, and made the mistake of choosing the soft option. Big mistake ! There must be something I can lay on top to make it firmer. Dont know if it is inner sprung or foam (its 10" high) and no zip. There must be something.

Probably just expensive foam rubbish if its 10" deep. Can you feel any springs?
Dump it and buy a proper box spring interior mattress and sleep well.

Don't know about the OP, but I'd then lie awake thinking about the money I'd wasted...

One possibility would be to advertise the custom job on the owners' association website. Someone will have the same shaped bed and may want a soft mattress.

Jazzcat has a standard sized double bed in the cabin, but it goes under the foredeck and foot space is limited. The previous owner bought a mattress thinking its shrink-wrapped thickness was what he'd get. He was rather surprised when it inflated from 4" to 12", leaving just enough space for a foot on its side. That mattress now adorns my son's van, while we have a 4" one and some foot space

When we had our matress custom made my wife went to the factory in Martinique. They told her you need the medium grade. Then they had all three grades of matress set up for her to try. She went for the medium grade. We found it slightly firm so added a matress topper to make it slightly softer. It is now perfect and more comfortable than the matress on our bed at home. Always better to be slightly firmer as you can always make it softer but not the other way around

Our mattresses are original equipment and are made of a soft foam above a firm one, which suits both of us. I think the simplest solution, which might help partially, would be to put a layer of firm foam under the existing soft mattress, which might be an improvement on what I presume to be a firm base.
