Has anyone with a Matsutec HP33A found a way of clearing AIS alarms and getting rid of the little red flashing A in the top right hand corner of the screen? I have failed to find anything relevant in the manual.

You clear the alarm by pressing the ENT key.

That closes the pop-up window with the alarm details, but it leaves the flashing A in the corner.

As far as I can see there is no way of stopping them happening, which can be a bit of a pain if you are using the GPS anchor alarm near someone who is transmitting, but you can reduce the frequency by fiddling with the CPA setting.
When an alarm goes off there is a little flashing symbol at the top right which for most things can be cleared on the Alarms pages but not, as far as I have been able to tell, for AIS. It's not one of life's great encumbrances, but it does mean that I look at the thing, think "Ooh, an AIS alarm" and after some investigation find that it's actually seven hours old.

To stop them completely set the CPA to zero and the TTCPA to zero, disables all collision alarms.
