I have a small Martin Heard Punt. It’s never had a sail but was designed for a boomless lug sail.

I’ve had the lug sail made from plans by Martins son. I also have a yard.

At the masthead what’s the best way to rig the halyard? Would a dumb sheave be ok for a sail which measures around 4.25 across the yard and around 4m down the luff?

Or is it best to put in a plastic sheave on a pin?

Any other ideas for the halyard?

It needs to be able to cope with the 6ard moving around. Would a pulley on a strop work better than a fixed sheave?
