Masthead flashing red light

This always happens. A new member picks up on an ancient thread. Why is that?

Mind you most don't come into the thread like Hitler on a bad day...

Good job it wasn't in a US port then, isn't it?

It was six years ago though.

Moron.

Pete

Pete the regs have not changed in the last 6 or even 12 years a FLASHING red light has never been a regulated light on any ship! As per US or any other countries regs

Flashing orange is, I think, air cushion vehicle, and alternating flashing vertical oranges are purse seining/ring netting.

We are talking about red flashing lights not amber and an amber flashing light would be on the bow of a barge being pushed ahead or along side a special flashing amber light is on an air cushion vessel or may but not shall, and as you know the wording is everything! May be on a sub partly submerged and on a pipeline being towed

It does matter if the yatch is taking on fuel then it needs to have a solid red light!
Dangerous cargo can be a strange thing wood aka dunage used to block things in a cargo hold is a dangerous cargo because as it decomposes it releases a combustable gas!
Also someone said something about POSH it means simply Port Out Starboard home! From way back when the earth was flat lol
Just like **** means Ship High In Transit because it too is a hazardous cargo again as it decomposes it releases gas and an open flame or spark and BOOM !

I think you are really going to fit in round here - can you access The Lounge yet? :encouragement:

Presumably because you quote USCG rules you are American, I would just point out that in that case the title "Captain" is generally regarded with some amusement round these parts...;)

So you are saying "they don't make a ship you can capt." Is that actually a claim to fame or has something been lost in the translation to English?

Hang on, I've got it, you are Barbados Skipper V - you are even answering your own posts again - and I claim my £5... :encouragement:

The fuel ships that come into the Cattewater at Plymouth to unload use the flashing red, I'm looking at it right now
