My mast is down at present (glad it was last week:-)), so a good opportunity to renew the navigation lights wiring which is approaching 20 years old. The wind instruments, VHF and TV aerial were done a couple of years ago and are fine. My lights are LED, so the current 2.5mm cable is probably overkill. Happy to be recommended a new cable type, I was thinking Oceanflex 1.5mm 3 core, since there 2 bulbs at the masthead and 2 half way up. I guess than thinner wire may be fine, but keen to use good quality tinned wire.

I required ours in the autumn and used 2.5mm ocean flex. Again, probably overkill given I also replaced all the lights with led, but I’d rather overdo do it than not. I guess you should account for the length of the run, in my case about 18 meters from mast head to switch panel.

I did the same last year - I upgraded my VHF to RG8x, really worth doing. And I too used Oceanflex. Think I got it from 12volt planet.

Yes well worth using good quality tinned wire, not worth scrimping on quality. I replaced all my mast wires last winter, off a similar age to your, all the old wires had blackened wires.
