Mast winches

I have two winches on my mast. One is single speed, the other two speed.
One has to be dedicated to the halyard, but which one? Single speed for halyard and two speed for reefing lines, or vice versa ?

Could you tell us a bit about your boat, size etc when you ask questions. It might help with the replies.
It is an omission many make. We are not clarvoyant ?
If you only have a 25M2 main then you should only need a winch to add the last bit of tension. However, a 74M2 main definitely need 2 speed to get it up the mast & tension the halyard once reefed
How do you hoist the jib & adjust its tension --same winches?
Single speed should sort the reefs if only to tension the clew --with luff going to horns.

Main is @ 30 m2. The boom runs in a track and the luff is tensioned with a downhaul.
Genoa is on an elderly Colnbrook roler reefing system where the halyard comes back down the foil.
