I'm heading for the French canals soon - boat already over in Normandy. Does any one know what the approx air draft is with mast up, radar, steaming light - but aerials down. We have a broom 38 1999.
thanks

Our Broom 35 CL is 5 m to the top of the anchor light. Your windscreen is 10 cm higher than ours so, in the absence of any further information, I would guess that your anchor light is around 5.1 m above the water. Hope that is of some help.

Thanks for the info. Wanted to check about entering Paris Arsenal sounds like we will be ok without taking mast down. Will check when baclk in France next week.

From memory ours was something like this:

3.25m to top of windscreen everything down
3.60 to top of radar arch if nothing else up and no raydome
4.0m to top of raydome with small ss nav hoop and antenna down
5.0m everything up except antenna

Not all 38s had a foldable stainless steel hoop with nav lights and gps antenna. A few 38s had a fantastic outer SS frame that followed the same contour as the entire radar arch, but could be lowered independently with everything else attached to it including dome, lights, antenna. Meant the tent could stay on for most low bridges if it was raining.
