Mast stepping

You're right Jim, the currents and the locks are disadvantages. We needed it since they were the only ones who could do our 19.5 meter mast. They did a great job and it was affordable. But if you can get to Rouen I guess that would be better...

BTW we filmed doing the mast at Tancarville for our TV show since we had never seen that kind of crane used before! Cool

We used bassin St Gervais, Rouen for our mast lift in October 2011 and Navy Services at the other end. I will see if I have a record of the prices and report back to you. We carried our two masts on deck, with absolutely no problems if you are well prepared. A useful and interesting article on taking a boat through the French canals in the February issue of Sailing Today.....
