Mast rake

I have recently bought a Jeanneau Flirt fixed keel 20feet overall. It sails well but is heavy on the helm (not uncontrollably) in strongish winds. The end of the boom is also quite low and when I checked the mast rake it is over 250mm at boom level.
Is this normal for a boat of this type or should it be nearer to the vertical?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I dont know the yacht but the rake sounds about. It really depends on the angle of heel. You could set the mast nearer vertical but you may get Lee helm in light winds which is no real problem. The real solution is to keep the mast vertical. This generally gives faster sailing and more controlability.

Had a Sun Odessey 24.2 with same problem I reduced the mast rake to around 150mm cured problem. Just moved the forestay down one hole on attachment strips which was about 25mm.
