What's the best material to use as a gasket when riveting low load stainless fittings to an aluminium mast. I'm planning to use tefgel on the rivets but would like to include a gasket as well. Thanks

Nylon or delrin washers?
I used Plastazote foam to insulate the (alloy) mast from the (stainless) deck fitting. I happen to work in that sector so there's often offcuts about!

A rigger I knew suggested plastic milk bottle trimmed to the fitting shape. They are made of PE and the material is thin. Whilst not necessarily UV proof the PE is trapped behind the fitting. I have also used PE tape on the back of the fitting.

You could get an old wetsuit and cut yourself some cheap neoprene gaskets

Yes, I have seen reference to this as well. It seems wrong somehow being so easy / cheap compared with the usual "marine" solution 🤔 I was thinking of using 1mm uPVC for its UV/weather resistance but wondered what others typically use.
