Not that bad in Cornwall, or at least where we were in the Helford last night; peak gust we saw was 40kts after the veer to the WSW, before that winds from the S were just shy of 30kts. Securité CG broadcast at ~21:45 for Lundy & Fastnet for F9 incr F10 soon however, so we were glad to be in a snug anchorage! Fast sail back into the Fal this morning, with only one other yacht out.
Snap!

Was this you?

We had a wonderful time trying out our newly fitted hydrovane. Tigger has now got a permanent companion, she's called Winnie ;).

(the squall was preceded by what could only be described as "monsoon" rain in the middle of the night - Helford was a wonderful place to be at anchor)

It was a strip about 20km wide that got the big winds, that went from around Poole/Weymouth, across the country to Lincolnshire.

We had 70mph in Oxfordshire apparently.
