On our First38 vintage 84 and in the right rear cabin four large switches exist.
The windlass, engine, services and mass. During the twenty last years the mass one was never used. I was just thinking to use this to occasionally parallel the engine battery plus to services.
Would you see any reason for not doing so?

Let's see if i have this right......

The "Mass" switch is connected to the battery negatives ?

You want to fit a pair of cables to the engine and service switches, for emergency engine starting ?

If so, that is a perfectly reasonable idea Just bolt the negative cable ends together insulate and secure them.
