I bought some plastic masking tape from a chandlers on the coast and need some more. Nowhere round here seems to stock and its much better than the papery stuff. Any ideas where I can get some.

It's called Frog Tape, and as Vic says available in places like B and Q and Screwfix.

I have had mixed results with masking tape. Found some that would hardly stick. This year I bought some in Asda. It was excellent. stuck well and pulled of with no residue left. It was on for approx 5 hrs.

I got mine from Toolstation - the blue tape, sticks ok and pulls off easily without residue and cheap!

The blue stuff costs more but it does seem to be better, especially if you leave it on for days!

+1 for Frog Tape from B&Q. Wide stuff. It has non-seep edging and you can stretch it round curved waterlines.

The stuff I've got ATM is yellow and shiny. It peeled off easily even after several months in place. (Naughty I know but I was waiting for a good day to apply second coat).

For the plastic tape try a motor factor that supplies car refinishing materials.

A warning-if you keep tool station paper tape its glue gets ever more sticky.
A roll a year old left on overnight last weeks has left residue not to mention bits of tape.
An older roll had just glued itself together.

Was that the blue or the ordinary?
I used some Toolstation blue recently that was exactly a year old and it was fine.
I have had trouble before with the off white stuff (not from Toolstation).
