Had a fine sail up from the Blackwater today (came across Guapa entering the Orwell) Marmalade now in Ipswich. We'll wait until this next load of S**te blows through then try and find a weather window to head across the N Sea.

Obviously it's likely to change, but Gribs at the moment is showing a bit of a window opening up on Thursday, though not a lot of wind for a while after this blow goes over

yep - so glad I took time off work to enjoy the great british summer! Remind me... why don't we go for a week in Marbella like other families?

Owning a boat is FUN, remember?
(I was going to say "sailing is fun", but...)

Ahha! Sun's come out, winds have dropped (Harwich) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

<check diary> yep, back to work tomorrow /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

In Mid Norfolk it is raining stair rods. The 'overflow' pond (doubles as a Fire supply) at the end of our warehouses is the fullest it has ever been since I have been on site (since April 2003).

Don't worry D3B your goods and chattles are safely stored in a different warehouse in the dry!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But at least I am not on holiday. Had that a couple of weeks ago and it included the wettest day in Guernsey's history for 30 years whilst we were there.

Our 'summer cruise' this year was a trip from Fox's to Ipswich Haven in a force 6. There the boat stayed for a week, whilst we went back to work.

Mersea Week next week, and including the Round the Island race on Wednesday. The RTI was cancelled due to weather last year and the year before. Not looking too sharp for this year so far........

Hope your luck is better. We are trying again for an East Coast Cruise during the first week of September.

Extraordinary weather this year! seems worse than last year. Maybe not so much rain, but every day seems to be blowing like stink.

the weather this year is most dissapointing,i saw a headline that said that its going to be like this for the next 5 summers.

i wish that swimbo would listen to me and sell up so that we could go live on a boat somewhere warm.

i was in La Gomera last march and i was talking to an Irish couple with a 45ft yacht, they spent winter in La Gomera and summer in the Azores ,tough life

Phew....

started reading that and thought about me chairs floating away....

Just had a message from FC (Jim)....
Not racing today too breezy...

I replied:
worse tomorrow with forecast of 30kts.

His reply;
35 kts now! going to the pub..... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

the long range is starting to show high pressure for the bank holiday weekend /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.....so by the time it arrives it will be hissing down again and blowing hard /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Marmalade now arrived in Ostend.

And promptly dispatched by God to purgatory (Mercator Marina) - Belgian Open Championship Dragons. Should have phoned ahead /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Nice hat BTW /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Blimey - the power of the internet! Even before we're tied up and fed the forum knows we're here. Hope I never need to go somewhere secretly!

Forgot to call Robert yesterday - we happened to be coming in just as 30 odd dragons were returning under sail (great sight) so not unreasonably he decided we could mix it with the hoi-polloi. No swell here behind the lock gate although quite a palaver getting in (1 lock 2 swing bridges and a very tight berth)
