I have a Rutland 913 and various solar panels connected to a Marlec HRDX regulator to feed my hungry batteries.
I recently fitted ammeters from the 913 and from the solar panels to the HRDX, so I can see what is going into the HRDX. I can also see what is coming out of the HRDX from the inbuilt output ammeter. The results are a bit disappointing, because I can see that the HRDX only outputs about 60-70% of what is apparently going into it. This is the case even when the batteries are at low charge, so I don't think that it is because the HRDX is limiting the output current to prevent overcharging.
So what is going on?
