These marks were given to me by a reliable source.
They were collated by an Orford fishing boat that regularly leaves/enters the river all year round.
They were submitted to local RNLI as accurate (for the time being?)
I have not had the opportunity to check them out but will when I can.

Thanks for those
I just plotted them on the Trinity house chartlet
and they are in total agreement with the deepest water their survey
The first three marks are for those entering from the North
and No 8 gets you as far as North Shoal
I'd add a No 9 to get you in the river proper:-

9) 52° 02'.82N 001° 27'.90E

....having said that I'll carry the list on board for emergencies but won't programme them in as a route
as the buoyage is always more reliable (ignoring the wandering Green buoy found at Colliers reach recently)

We're there on Sunday. No desire to ignore but I was confused by 'marks' :D
Apologies for confusion over terms. 'Marks' being the vernacular, as handed to me, of the local fishingmen. They have their own language don't you know :encouragement:
May see you Sunday, either motoring against tide or recovering from a night up the Butley.
Maybe I should have said: NOT TO BE USED FOR NAVIGATION? But I am prepared to trust it when I can get away.

Wind is forecast SE Sunday so it's a good sail up from Harwich. HW is about 4pm if I remember so perfect for a 2.30pm arrival. Come aboard for a cuppa if you see us anchored or moored up somewhere, I reckon we'll be on the Ore/Alde/But all week.
