sorry I dont know, my engine is manaul start ( pull start ) and in 1976 we removed its simple el "loom" and fitted a direct kill-cord, so I am not into the electric side too well. I will have a look thro the service manual.

but make sure when you have it all up & going that you have a kill-cord fitted.

the items in the first photo, look like the items from the lever control lever Merc/Mariner for engines with serial Nos below 9248006

item at ur thumb is a techo connection, item with the other large arrow looks like choke switch,

you will see them in this photo ( in the lever control box ) which is for serial Nos Below 9248006 ( which I read as below 1980/81 )

have a look on the engine block to see if you can find the serial No on it, I have never needed to do this so cant tell you were it is, but been told it should also be on the engine block ??? ( you can now see why the serial No is so important, not just to date the engine but to get the correct info )

ps, I will be away until this Thur.

I thought the ignition switch has push to choke ? so why would there be another choke ?

like I said...my engine is a pull start.......so my answer is: dont know...

do you have two chokes ?

where is the 2nd one ?

me away from tonight until Thur

.

I thought the ignition barrel for he key was push to choke might be wrong i know that part in the photo pushes in so i might only have that choke.
