After leaving the outboard lying on it's side for 2 yrs I decided I'd use it this year on the tender. Plonked it on the push-pit and the next morning oil all down the side of the boat. Anyone know where I can download an exploded diagram of this engine so I can see just how involved sorting out the oil seal will be. Engines 1989
Thanks

Oil is coming from the back of the prop and dripping off the skeg so I'm assuming it's gearbox oil. I might try filling the gearbox and seeing how much oil it takes first.

If it is viscous, clean and has the typical rotting cabbage smell of gear oil then its gear oil.

If its mobile, black and smells burnt then its old partly burnt 2 stroke oil.

If it is gear oil then you will need to renew the seals or you will get water intrusion into the gear case. Unlike Seagulls it should not be run on a mix of oil and water.

Thanks Vic.
Looks like the way to go is change the gearbox oil if it's not water contaminated leave well alone.

Thanks as always
