I ordered some bottle screw covers three weeks ago , they were due to arrive last week but didnt turn up . Ive called half a dozen times over the past week and each time i have to leave a number for them to call back (they wont let you hold), they never have called. If this is the level of service they give i shall not be using them again. Am i just unlucky or have others found them as poor?

Same experience here. I placed an order with them about 2 months ago, received about half of it quite quickly, then another single item, then another 3, and was still waiting for the remains last week. Kept calling, emailing etc with very little response. I finally threatened them with costs of keeping the boat on the hard while I waited for the parts, and they refunded me. I won't be using them again. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yes I used them once. I needed a pair of spinnaker/whisker pole mounting brackets. They didn't seem to have the specific deck mounted ones that I really wanted (they were out of stock) so I ordered a pair of stanchion mounted ones.

After several weeks they eventually arrived, and by some strange coincidence they weren't what I ordered, but they were what I originally wanted (so how did they know?) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Having said that, what they supplied were actually more expensive (slightly) then what was eventually ordered. So I was better off, I think???

They are at the bottom of my list now though.

Bought a PLB from them. In stock, no problems whatsoever. Your stories above all relate to out of stock items. If not in stock then you are subject to waiting times from other suppliers and the distributor may well promise something undeliverable in order to hold onto the order.

I ordered a new Windlass from them with no problems. They told me there was a lead time, and it arrived within the period. The price was also very good!!!

Strangely enough the stanchion mounted ones were shown as 'In Stock' which is why I went for them. I was going on a trip and needed them in a hurry.

I'll still use them, but I will probably place them as No. 3 choice when I'm searching. After all, they supplied what i really wanted, even though that was not exactly what I eventually ordered from them /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Found them difficult to deal with. Slow to respond to delivery errors (wrong part sent). Several calls needed to get any action - and parts were all in stock. Frankly good service should be universal whether part is in stock or not. After similar experience as yourself they're not my preferred choice.

Likewise. Fishfinder and chain-pipe ordered on Monday - F/Finder arrived on Wednesday (at a very good price). Great, I thought. Two weeks later I phoned about the non- arrival of the chain-pipe. I was told that it 'should have been there by now', then changed it to say a mistake in the dispatch was the cause. Part arrived next day - no apology.
Must do better.

very poor service- new toilet ordered- cock up over delivery - then they said i had cancelled it-eventually arrived weeks later-not a chance i will use them again-the grief, set against a competitive price didn't add up !

I bought a VHF through them a few weeks ago and they were good, it arrive about 36 hours after I ordered it.

I think you get the same problems with all mail order / web based companies. In order to make profit, they have the fewest possible staff, packing boxes, working straight from computer printout to shelf to box.

If there is a mistake, a problem, or it's out of stock there's no one with enough time to follow it up.

A few companies still manage to offer excellent customer services, but there are threads like this on every forum I visit. I'm afraid it's what we get for wanting to buy cheaply.

Useless! Ordered two items, very small, nothing arrived three weeks, tried several e mails, heard nothing phoned them, from Spain, told me they normally send an e mail about delivery costs. Nothing arrived, told me it would be £34.0 for shipping a GPS suncover and cable to Spain, 200 grams! I told them no, send it to my UK address, never arrived, phoned them, told me htey had been shipped to Spain?? Arrived three weeks later in Spain, cost £37 for shipping! cost of items, £20. I could have done without, never use them again.

Thanks everyone for your replys it looks as if they ether get it right first time with no problems or make an absolute hash of it, i fear the second in my case.
I think a letter of complaint is called for.
