Why do Reliants never suffer from osmosis?

Although on reflection it may actually be beneficial in providing a conductive layer to serve as an earth plane.

Remember talking to an Offcm chappie at a boat Show, who told me they had prosecuted a woman using a handheld to call up the boat from the supermarket to check on supplies of cornflakes etc. They probably would have left her alone if she hadn't been on Ch16 for nearly half an hour?

For the same reason your topsides don't get osmosis - immersion is the key. The GRP has to be in the water for a long time for the process to take place.
