Would anybody have a recommendation for a GRP specialized small craft surveyor in the area of Dublin? This will be for a pre purchase survey on our first boat (Jeanneau SO45.2) and I'd like a thorough inspection.

I haven't had a boat surveyed in the Dublin area, but my previous boat came with a survey which had been done by Eugene Curry. It appeared to be pretty accurate.
Here are two previous threads on the same subject which might help:

My current boat was surveyed for me by Eugene Tubridy ( www.tubridymarinesurveyors.com ) . He's based in Kinsale, but might travel to Dublin at reasonable cost. I was present when he surveyed my boat, (always a good idea in case anything needs to be removed, to give better access to all areas of the boat!) and he pointed out a repair which he had specified when he acted for the insurers of the previous owners.
Subsequently, when I claimed on my insurance in respect of a similar damage to the boat, it was Eugene who was appointed by my insurers and he was able to specify a complete removal of the original repair and the addition of extra reinforcement to an area of the hull which he felt addressed a flaw in the original design.

+1 for Graeme Noonan runs a boat yard in North Wicklow & works out of Greystones also. I didn't think he acted as a surveyor as well, but he is highly recommended for anything to do with glass fibre. He did some structural work for me on my last boat, with the insurance survey and supervision done by Frank Jackson Marine , a small craft surveyor and yachtsman based in Bray and whom I can recommend.

Another Dublin based surveyor that was recommended to me by a friend was Brian Matthews (Allspec). He did a standard, run of the mill 10 yr insurance survey for me some years ago, which included lots of photos if I recall.
