We're based at Brighton Marina and our fridge has stopped working properly. We'd like to get someone to have a look at it, probably replacing the old fashioned holding plate and checking the insulation at the very least. I called Penguinfrigo and they recommended a guy but he still has to travel from Portsmouth so I'd be spending a fair amount on his travel expenses especially if he can't sort it out/replace it in a day.
Obviously, there's Eurotek Marine here (can anyone highly recommend them??) but just wondering if there's any other Brighton based marine refrigeration guys that anyone has used.

I have purchased a Frigoboat fridge and freezer units from Penguin Refrigeration. I built the boxes using fibreglass sheeting and Celutex insulation, and I used the existing doors. It uses a keel cooler and compressor and a regular plate evaporator.

BTW I also had an ancient holding plate system that I ripped out and threw away!

Very helpful guy but I suggest looking at their website as it has a questionnaire that will help you decide the sizes required.

This is not a simple thing to do so and not that cheap but the result is very good.

cheers,

If they recommended Rob, I can't endorse their recommendation highly enough. We were at Brighton and he came out to do some work on our boat. VERY knowledgable and lovely guy to boot. I did quite a bit of research for the same reasons as you and I am pleased that we went with him in the end. No connections/satisfied customer etc etc
