I am currently looking at the 27hp model - seems a good spec, but larger and equal weight to the engine it will replace so may not actually fit in the boat
Thanks for your help. I think you are right about being based on a Kubota but marine power are not very communicative just directing me to Holland who are very helpful but my dutch is not too great and £30ish inc postage seems a bit steep. Marine Power UK sold the engine and now don't want to know. I have searched using google but none of the numbers on my filter match up. I'm going to try In-line filters advanced search. I'll post if I get any success.
Many thanks but I'm a liveaboard in Portugal, and apart from the filters on the engine I don't have any spares! The guy from MPS did respond to emails last year but now nothing! Wish I had bought them last year! ThanksTry a national car parts company called 'Andrew Page' they have branches everywhere they are excellent just tell them the filter number or take you old filter and they will match one up on their computer.
I had the same problem with an marine Isuzu engine, Isuzu filter price £13.50, Andrew Page £4.70
Yep, fuel filter coming from a car parts company, Oil from a tractor company! Impellers .... not so lucky!Have they got HGV parts companies in Portugal? Take the old filters there and get them matched. In the UK I use fleetwheel for my filters, saves me a few Bob.
Google Timray Diesel Engines BV. This is the Dutch company mentioned earlier in the thread.I was considering an MP engine but want nothing to do with a dealer who cant sort out such a basic issue. What would/will happen if it's more serious?
Ah perfect many thanks. I have since found the filters etc but the name of this company is very useful. I have to say that I like the engine. It’s so robust it reminds me of a Bukh. Everything is very easy to reach for servicing…. So I’m happy just need a supply of parts! ThanksGoogle Timray Diesel Engines BV. This is the Dutch company mentioned earlier in the thread.
They have been in the business since 2005 and offer a 5 year warranty on their engines. Both the company and their product seem to have an excellent reputation and are very popular in Netherlands. We have had one of their engines since 2017 and have been very happy with it: robust, simple, heavy. Generally speaking of the "the village idiot can fix it" variety.
Parts shipped anywhere in Europe over night and reasonably priced. Example: BMC water pump, rebuild only, six weeks turnaround, 250.- Pounds Sterling plus shipping two ways. TMD water pump from Timray 30.- Euro, shipped over night.
Also, for parts check here: Bladt Diesel, Denmark. They sell the same engines and have parts in stock. Part lists on their site. Regular parts shipped within 24hrs, special parts take 5 days. Both Timray and Bladt websites in English.Ah perfect many thanks. I have since found the filters etc but the name of this company is very useful. I have to say that I like the engine.
