Hello,
I am in the process of fitting a 2:1 reduction gearbox to replace a direct drive unit to my Kingfisher 30' allowing me to have a meatier prop to allow me to motor a bit faster. I have narrowed it down to two units one being the Hurth HBW1002R @£540.00 and the other one the PRM 80 (soon to be replaced) @£430.00. They are both suitable due to the output drop being quite small. Does anyone out there have any experience of these two beasts ?
Thanks, Colin.

We had a hurth hbw250 on our old boat and it was fine. on our Colvic Watson we have a PRM160-2:1 on our 65hp Leyland and its almost unbreakable a commercial gearbox and a good price
