Jerry told me that he retires at the end of this month (September) and not taking any work on. Even though he is still around he isn't working so still looking unfortunately.

Yes, and about three weeks ago he said he would service the engine he put in, but now he says he is retired & can't do. Grrrr!

Jerry was at the Suffolk Boat Jumble, a couple of weeks ago, selling the last of his tools as he's moving out to Spain.

You could try http://www.willmyboatfloat.com/. I suggest this because a few weeks ago, we had a problem with our engine failing to charge the batteries. After a lot of poking around, we found that the wire from the alternator to the starter had failed. I went to the chandlery to source parts, and found that they hadn't anything suitable in stock, but this guy happened to be there and overheard me asking. He was working further along our pontoon, and offered to make up a new lead for me, which he did using better materials and tools than I would have! He also refused all payment, though I did manage to force a bottle of wine on him. If he can't help I'm sure he'll try and put you in touch with someone who can.

I don't know, but it seems he does everything else, and it was engine wiring that he helped me with. However, my guess is that if he doesn't, he'll know someone who does.

Just a quick follow up to this. I've been and carried out the service on Ians engine, to Beta spec, which will keep his 5 year warranty intact. With Jerry retiring i'd be prepared to take on some work at Titchmarsh, without making any charge for the travel time. My website (see signature) has some details of the work i can do, but if in doubt get in touch.
