Nigel Calders "Boatowners Mechanical and Electrical Manual" is very good & doesn't require a grounding in Rocket Science...

Good question and I have listened to Help! for a long time and as a professional marine electrical engineer thats why I wrote The Marine Electrical and Electronics Bible, and The Motorboat Electrical and Electronics Manual. Plus a simple one for fishermen, and even easier paperbacks on specific subjects. no calculus, minimal theory and all practical. If you visit my website you at www.fishingandboats.com I run a forum, so ask anything you like, books are through Amazon or Adlard Coles plus get the after sales help on the site http://www.fishingandboats.com/forum.html
