Has anyone had any experiences with using Marine Deck 2000 as an alternative to teak decking, particularly on an aluminium deck?

I have heard some say that it looks like poo or that the edges are prone to lifting up.

I am just trying to find an easy and cheap alternative to teak. A plain metal surface will be too 'tinny'.

I saw a aluminium boat with marine deck 2000 fitted about 3 years ago in durban south africa. At a distance it looks good simulat look to teak. Close up it looks like cork strips which to me looks cheap.

I am fitting out a steel yacht and have decided to use treadmaster for reasons of antislip, sound deadening, protection of paintwork on steel deck chips in paint if anything is droped on the deck. Also in durban south africa metal decks get very very hot in summer too hot to walk on and I hope this will reduce the heat transfer to my feet

I have never come across Marine Deck, but I have just used a product called 'Tek-Dek' on my cockpit benches. Its an exdruded plastic strip which interlocks to form a surface.

V good - almost indistinguishable from teak, reasonably easy to lay (easier than real teak) and durable.
