Marine conservation Zones

....
I was not actively setting out to knock the RYA . There are enough knockers about. However, i am concerned that these proposals may affect our moorings & club activities on the river Blackwater. Once we have the principle law in place it will creep up on us. Antifoulling will be the first item

Daydream..
If you contact Maldon DC.. the planning department LDF team or possibly the bug hugging lot.. I know that a person called Peter Garrett was the manager for open spaces and all things "natural' a few years back..

They will be aware of any possible MCZ as a local consultee.... Beware.. they will all be lapping it up and think it is wonderful...

Let us know what you find..

That's not how Government consultations work I'm afraid.

They ask some very tightly defined questions. You respond to the questions. Anything which isn't covered by there questions is ignored.

Some of my comments tried to suggest possibilities for after this consultation, as it will soon be over (31st March).

A useful question is qu.9: Q.9 You may wish to provide comments on other aspects of this consultation such as evidence requirements, identification and treatment of high risk sites. Where you disagree with the approach taken please provide evidence to support your views. "Other aspects" gives pretty wide scope.

Also 8: Q.8 Do you have any new information that was not available or used in the Impact Assessment to inform or quantify the value the benefits of MCZs? - scope for creative writing there - could say such and such a proposal actually would bring no appreciable benefit for example.

I'm happy that the questions in the document give BORG enough scope to make the points we want to.
