Marine carpet ?

My old jag 27 had Marine Carpet fitted. I don't know what it cost as I didn't put it in; but it was brilliant: it survived multiple floodings, & all it required each winter season was a power wash & remained apparently immaculate for 14 years we had the boat.................

I got fed up with decent carpet. The pile came off and went everywhere.

Now use B & Q very short pile quite stiff and very cheap. Does not shed its coat.

Thought it would do 2 seasons and then replace. Looks like its going to last until I get fed up with the colour.

Our boat was previously owned by an hotelier. It was fitted with offcuts from the restaurant. The carpet appears to be bullet-proof, surviving standard spillages, burning by false starts on the catalytic heaters, saltwater sinking, and my engineering messy bits.
I've attacked both flotex and our carpet with the pressure hose, and can't see any difference. (ie both come clean, neither disintegrate)
So. if you want carpet in your boat - and I strongly recommend it, get some commercial quality offcuts. And a pair of slippers.
