The price is sky high, is it worth paying for the dry areas, saloon, bedrooms etc ?
Struggling to see the value myself, whats the thoughts ?
Can anyone recommend a better option.

Carpet tiles! just bought some to refit my boat, 500mm x 500mm rubber backed at £2.39 each from Homebase, and if they are damaged they can each easily be replaced (bought two extra) and you can lift each one to get at the bilges when/where required!

A fully synthetic carpet will do the business.

Bathroom carpet ?? although I suspect out of fashion now and maybe not hard wearing enough.

Thanks for the replies guys, I like the idea of carpet tiles of bilge access etc, flotex looks good for the galley area.
So the thoughts are- no need to buy "marine" carpet ?

Cheap carpet offcuts, cut to fit & then get professionally edged if you want, or just copydex the edges to stop fraying. I did SR for under a tenner. Don't use foamback but hessian or hard rubber is fine.

Cheap enough that you can chuk 'em & change 'em if they get dirty.

Impervious bathroom carpet is what I have used.
Cheap, rubber backed, and easy to hoover and can be washed.
Use self adhesive velcro to keep it down.

We have a rag roll carpet in the saloon which is rolled up and put away when sailing and taken home and washed when it gets muddy/sandy

Cut mine to fit exactly & it needs nothing to hold it in place. Therefore much easier to lift & shake over the side after a day on the beach with the g-kids.

Hoover? HOOVER? HOOVER? I suppose your maid does it for you? :D Just lift & shake over the side, a Poundshop dustpan & brush will deal with anything left on the cabin sole in a few seconds. It's only a boat & only a couple of sq mtres at most. Vacuum cleaners indeed, she'll be expecting hairdryers & ironing boards next.

We have 13 square meters. Don't fancy that with a dustpan. 220v micro Hoover just the job.

This is perfect.
