marine barbecues

Get one of the cheap stainless 'horizontal barrel' types, remove the legs and fabricate a couple of ally brackets that can then be bolted onto the sides of the barrel. Attach to the pushpit using one of those half round pipe clip things. Ours lives there permanently during the summer and gets used most weekends. Gas barbecues are for wimps.

Re: marine barbecues UGH !!

Cheque book devils .... how they can charge so much for a bit of stainless etc. is beyond me.

I have always carried the disposable for beach use ... basically they are wrapped in plastic and survive the surf ride in !! But I also have a standard rectangle 9.99 Hibachi .....

It is not hard to construct a few brackets to sit on pushpit rail to hold the standard hibachi .... ok so its mild steel and doesn't last that long .... well mines actually older than the fancy one that fell apart in my garden !! and still working ! Where you have the feet originally - fit extended metal brackets to hold it on the rail, with a pair of longer arms to come down diagonal to support the outer part. When you finished .... unclip the diagonals and dump in oggin .... I don't think that natural charcoal is anti-environment ???? I would NEVER ever use IN the cockpit though .... that charcoal has a high temp. and wqould play havoc with GRP if ever an accident !

Marine BBQ .... bah !! Hibachi or simnilar special ... lasts maybe 2 tr or more .... for marine bbq price - you can buy a shelf load of cheapo garden ones .....
