Marina prices in Andalucia

Those idiot politicos increased the prices in the marinas so much that most of the boats fled . Near me, in Ayamonte ,the marina,that used to have a waiting list ,is now nearly empty.I checked their prices and could see why. A Spanish friend of mine brought his boat over here from Cordoba because the charges almost doubled overnight. I would love to keep my Fulmar in Ayamonte but not at 300 Euros a month.Just not acceptable for the cost of living in these parts.Politicians....

Compared to the Algarve (except Vila Real) and Med, the Junta marinas such as Ayamonte are cheap. Have they dredged it yet? were supposed to start late August. Have a look at ElRompido, a private marina and 2 more recent ones which I think may be clubs, may be cheaper.

E300 a month? In Croatia you might get a berth for a rowing boat for that. Oars would probably be extra! :ambivalence:

Ayamonte is cheap compare to Lagos over the winter. (15 euro per day)

Although still lots of austerity measures, the economic situation in Portugal for Mr Average is better with only 13.6% unemployment against Spain's 23.6% and far fewer boarded up shops. Thanks to the problems/dangers in some countries, there's been an increase in tourism which has helped. Visited 5 Spanish marinas this summer from Ayamonte to Fuengirola, all had lots of space available, in the case of Ayamonte it looks 2/3 empty. Talking to the manager at Port America about the empty berths, he said many owners had to sell up or go smaller due to economic climate.
