Marina not ready to negotiate

Welcome to Swanwick :-)

I'd be surprised if you found the run up and down the river an issue, I quite enjoy pootling up/down, it is quiet once passed Hamble village on the way up.

Ta very much. Come aboard for a beer when you're around...E50 has been pencilled in for us. The river run is an appeal to us funny enough. Gives us time to gather our thoughts before we hit the 'rat run' so to speak.

Yes I'm with the same mind with Port Solent I enjoy both ways winding up and down. Still as part of 'Premier crew' you will know doubt visit us sometime with your free days, I often go to Swanwick or Chichester for a change on the same deal.

Thanks Tom, it's not a criticism of the way PB do business. Their tariff is completely transparent.

I'm there until end March anyway so we'll have to see how the new marina goes after that. I'm sure we'll be in for lunch at South Deep etc on a regular basis over the season!

Richard

Didn't they tell you?
If you aren't still a berth holder or planning on being one you aren't allowed to South Deep!
Sorry!

LOL! Always good to have you back.
Where are you moving to by the way?

I'm going to try Cobbs Tom. My business partner has his boat there so it'll be nice to head down after work with him for a pint and a natter.

Just got to decide on dry stack or pontoon really.

We generally put the kettle on as we enter the Hamble and have a cup of tea as we pootle all the way up to the bridges

Ah that would explain why E15 was one of the options Shawn. How come you're going to Weymouth?

Edit: oops...just seen location doh!

weymouth is actually further for us to travel but we just love the place, we had a static caravan there for a number of years when the kids were young and we have great memories of the place, the water is deep and not much traffic in the bay and good fishing :D

i used to walk round the harbour year on year with my chips from bennets and say to the wife "i will have a boat in that harbour one day" well that day is very soon upon us and i can't wait just need a decent weather window and we will be there :)

We're in the marina only for winter - I'd love to come in for the rest of the year - but the price tag is just too huge in comparison to the "inconvenience" of being on a swinging mooring ...
But then I haven't even been down to the boat this year ... :(

It's pretty tough out there at the moment.

Were @ MDL Brixham which is IMHO one of the best I've ever been to, Greal Location, Pretty New Facilities, Extreemly Helpfull Staff & almost completely full!

Prices have been frozen for 2013 & the Fuel Barge is being completly refurbished to the benefit of MDL & Berth holders alike.

To put things into perspective I contacted Darthaven Marina in Kingswear, 6 year waiting list for a 12 mtr Berth!!!!!

Bet they dont discount lol

Berthed at Saxon Wharf with MDL and we have bad a 3% increase. How come MDL have different policy's on prices at different marinas ?

Spent 2 weeks at Brixham in 2011 using Freedom Berthing. Lovely spot and great place to be based for exploring further west. Almost worth leaving my boat there for a season and driving down from Poole.

Well, just been back to my marina and had a chat with them. Had a measure up of the boat and it turns out it was just a smidge under the size recorded on their computer so OK to stay in the lower tariff. So staying put at PB for the next season which is a relief.

Nice people, nice cafe, good location. Very happy! Just got to get the boat back in the water now.

And you are getting a refund on past overcharging
