At present my boat is moored in Tropea (Southern Italy). But next spring I am hoping to move it up to the Marseille area.
Does anyone know of Marinas/harbours with space for a 10.5M boat for next summer.
I am finding it very difficult to obain any substantial info about marinas and costs for this area.
Thanks

i would show up - plenty of marinas that way will have seasonal space for 10.5 metre boat - the shortage is for larger spaces.

The old port in marseilles itself is quite a place to be and lots of the pontoons seem fairly secure. SNCM or CMN opposite offer seasonal or overnight berths. Otherwise L'estaque further west tho not been there.

Haven't got phone details or prices to hand unfortunately. They're still on board. We're in UK.
Last year Toulon was good, and so was La Ciotat. Both very well protected and got in with no problem (11.1m), although we did not want a long term berth.
They're both east of Marseille, and well away from the Mistral which we didn't lose until we got east of Port St Louis. There's also Cassis, but that was pricey.

I was in Marseilles this time last year because I was looking for somewhere to leave my boat which is just under 10 metres. I was told it was full - maximum time I could stay would be a couple of weeks as a visitor.

Mind you - I was told the same in Paris last year and I stayed 9 months so maybe best just to show up, as you say.

I liked the place - very lively

Yes. Sorry my mistake.

How did we ever get there!

One of the best and cheapest marinas in the Marseille area is Martigue which is just across the Gulf Du Foss from Port St Louise. It is a local authority run marina with a yard just up the river to Martigue and moorings in floating marina in the town. I must just say I havn't been there since 2000 so it may not be the same as it was. I wintered my boat there and went back to the UK for most of the winter. You can actually catch a train just up the road from the marina and when I did it in 2000 I was back in Cambridgeshire that same evening. Chris.

poter

ps. the nearest airport is Nimes, around 40 mins away. Cheapee Flights from luton via ryanair.

port napolian is expensive for what it is,but in pure cost terms its reasonably priced especially the lift in and out for antifouling.

As a garage to leave a boat between the 2 week summer break and the weekend from time to time its fine good security first class services on site

If you had just spent a week getting your boat ready antifouled cleaned and provisioned and then get stuck there with a 10 day mistral i think you would be more than glad to leave!

I liked port st-loise before the marina just a free commercial port with a high key that kept the wind off, the best time was when port Napolian was set up by a groupe of English people and when i bought all my new ropes shackels and icom m3 i think it was a small handheld vhf they orderd the stuff and week or less you had it 30% less at least than any other chandler!

Later it was run by Dutch and now i dont know Personaly i would winter in say Toulon 4 month maximum stay have to leave for 2 months befor comeing back--if they have room or try wintering near Cannes! there are places and the train station to Cannes is just a 15min walk

Summer is the real problem when all the boats arrive and others leave there dry places
