I haven't tied up in a marina overnight for more than four years but am in one this evening and only for one night. The local pasta place, which is almost directly astern of Stingo, has thumping music playing and to make it worse, it's rap. Who would have thought that an Italian establishment doesn't play any Pavarotti at 25 minutes past midnight?

Cooking Fat cannot sleep either, and has his ears pinned back in a cat's 'furrowed brow' sort of way. Bet he too, can't wait to get back on the anchor in a quiet bay where the only disturbance is the regular fish feeding frenzy at dawn.

Now that I have that off my shoulders, one would thing I should feel better. Well I don't. Nevertheless, I will attempt to get to sleep now. G'night all.

I sympathise deeply rap isn't my favourite music either. Leaving that yo one side though I am intrigued by your comment of "not visiting marinas in four years". Pray tell how you get by for fuel and water?

Dunno for sure but the OP probably collected the said water n' fuel during the day and left before nightfall.

The watermaker gets fired up every three days. Diesel by jerry cans when needed. I can get eight 25 litre jerry cans into my dinghy and 200 litres generally lasts for a few months. In truth, I spend more time lugging cases of beer to my boat than I do lugging diesel.
