Having had an enjoyable couple of weeks getting to Holland and back via France, Belgium (ended up in Goes in the Dutch Delta, free Beer and titbits when we arrived in the town basin) it was a bit of a shock to spend a night in Dover. I had got used to used to Marina fees in the 24 to 28 euro bracket for Ronhilda so £35 for Dover tidal harbour was a sobering welcome back to UK shock. Not as if Dover offers any great standard, as well as being the most expensive its was the worst in facilities for the whole trip. With the Dutch returning in force this year in some numbers I wonder what they thing of our value for money marinas.

Sadly Ronhilda's Autohelm ST 3000 has suffered a corroded PCB after 25 odd years, I have put an advert in the wanted section of forum but does anybody have a an old control box they are selling after up grading.

I do not have a modern wired up instrument system so do not need all the fancy linked together **** modern replacement designs seem to boast about. Anybody know off or recommend a simple system to replace the ST3000?

There is not one. The SPX is the nearest with a drive that clamps on the wheel. Not the best bit of kit, but only £1k compared with £2.5k+ for an inboard pilot. You may find a 4000 head will drive the 3000 motor. I had the other way round at one point - a 3000 head driving a wheelpilot.

I am sure the ST4000 head will control the ST3000 drive unit. It is only looking for a reversible motor signal?

The 4000 head will control the 3000 motor as I did this but the wiring from the head to the motor needs modifying (one is 2 wire and the other is 3 wire0, A very easy soldering job.
