Marina berths contract what is included

When you have a contract to keep your boat in a marina such as MDL for which you tend to pay quite a considerable sum does this include or should one expect Marina staff to check boats to ensure they are not taking on water, the canvas is generally in tact and the ropes have not come undone and fenders are working ok for example

I would not expect them to sort issues out unless very simple but would expect them to at least notify the boat owner.

Do they for example walk the pontoons on a daily basis and perform a simple visual inspection.

I am wondering what in this regard is generally included in the price and what the reality is generally
Thought this was a relevant thread to give a shout out to Boatfolk (now premier) at Weymouth marina… they spotted a solar panel had become detached from the fly bridge rail in the recent high winds and not only rescued it in time, but reattached it with strong cable ties… no damage.. can’t really ask for more than that. I’ve had the same support and service at Boatfolk Portland too (being notified if something not looking right etc). Hope they both keep their mojo going forward as Premier..

Hello,

Kingfisher - Fire Alarm Sounding

Your fire alarm (Fire Angel?) was sounding this afternoon. We went onboard and took the battery out of the unit.

There was no evidence of smoke or fire and everything looked in good order.

Regards,

I had similar from MDL and eventually found it was due to batteries gassing off as the lead acids were being float charged with the Cristec charger set to AGM.

The batteries had been replaced prior to our purchase but the installer (unknown) clearly didn't check or set the charger to match the battery type. No problems since I dipped the dip switch.

I had a look today and refitted the battery. Ten minutes later it started sounding again, with nothing to be concerned about, so that's for the bin now.

I was impressed with the response of the team at Portishead, especially in light of the doubting Thomases above.
